by Michael Kusugak
illustrated by Vladyana Krykorka
I was telling stories to kids in Inuvik one day when I ran out of stories to tell them (I had been there for four days, telling stories.) And then I thought about THE UGLY BLACK THING, that flew over Repulse Bay when I was ten years old. So I told the story. And, along with the story of my grandmother’s pet raven and the the story of our first adventures in school in Chesterfield Inlet, it turned into a book.
